Fundraise on our Behalf

In Malawi:

  • 90% of the population are subsistence farmers
  • 76% of the population live on less than $2 per day.
  • 42% of the population live on less than $1 per day.
  • 1 million people live with HIV/AIDS

The MicroLoan Foundation started with one man, working out of his garage in Malawi, and $15,000. Our mission generates a deep passion in others who would like to help the poorest African women create their own businesses and work their own way out of poverty. Our ability to serve more women and their families depends on the generous support of individuals like you. We need you to help us spread the word about our work to friends, family, work colleagues (even the boss) social media buddies, and that stranger sitting beside you on the train or bus.

Get creative. Here are few ideas to start….

  • Host a fundraiser in your home. Invite your friends and neighbors to join you for dinner/cocktails/afternoon tea/morning coffee where they can learn about the MicroLoan Foundation and its work. We’ll send a staff member to speak if you wish.
  • Talk to the leader of your church and ask for his/her help in getting the community involved.
  • Invite the MiroLoan Foundation USA Executive Director or a Board member to speak at you place of work.
  • Start a penny drive – aim for millions! Then host a “count the pennies” party.
  • Ask friends and colleagues to donate a $1 per day for a month.
  • Talk to teenagers and college students – they are bound to have some fun ideas.
  • Call us and ask for more suggestions.
